Early this week Paramount
announced that
February 10th will see the DVD release of
Tales from the Darkside - The 1st Season. Now we've heard from our retail friends that this 3-disc set will indeed contain all 24 eerie episodes from the first season...INCLUDING the pilot episode "Trick or Treat" that included Barnard Hughes (
Mr. Merlin, TRON, Blossom) and was written by legendary horror director George Romero (
Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead).
But the good news doesn't stop there! Retailers have been told by the studio that plans are to try and include a brand-new audio commentary by Romero, who also Exec Produced the series. Now, that is NOT finalized yet, and could be subject to change, of course. Still, it's a fabulous idea, and one that we hope sees its way onto the finished product. The list price for this set will be $36.98 SRP, but right now you can pre-order it from Amazon for just $25.99 (cost is subject to change without notice, at Amazon's discretion).
